Why I Am Not A Hindu

    Dr Ramendra

However, since I am a Hindu by birth, I could have only written ‘why I am not a Hindu’ and not ‘why I am not a Muslim’. What could have Bertrand Russel said if somebody had asked him why had he written ‘why I am not a Hindu’. The answer is obvious. Russel was a Christian by birth, so he could not have written ‘Why I am Not a Hindu.

A collector’s edition  Over 840 memes and graphic posts included
    • India’s first atheist meme book

” It’s an excellent work and is to be highly appreciated”

Dr Raghavan Pattathil, Chief Scientist (Retd.), CSIR-NIIST, Government of India

”Everyday, we can find a number of thought provoking memes from Nastik Nation. This meme book is really adventurous and very inevitable.”

Sambasiva Rao, President, Manava Vikasa Vedika, Hyderabad.

”A treasure chest for Indian Atheists”

Rahul Bhuvan, Hewlett and Packard, Bengaluru.

The chief aim of publishing these memes is to create awareness in people who may never have a chance to taste atheism. So its purpose is to attracting the faithful to the unbelievers’ world, in India and worldwide, through its memes in English.

This volume carries a few memes that had to be withdrawn from circulation or been banned by Facebook due either to people asking for the same or to reporting to Facebook.

Most of our critics complain that we only target Hindu religion and are completely blind on other faiths. We don’t say it is not correct. Yes, we targeted Hinduism mostly just because there isn’t enough people or groups of people doing job of criticizing Hinduism . Activists in India depend largely on Western memes and infographics when it comes to criticizing religion and professing atheism. We don’t say India specific atheist memes are totally absent, though. Our concern is only its low scale. So we tried to fill the gap there by focusing more on Hinduism. Of course we published occasionally some non-Hindu things too, when there had been issues in India pertaining to these faiths.

We hope that readers will enjoy this volume too.

Influence Of Non-Vedic Schools In Indian Thought And Literature

    Dr C S SOUMYA

While discussing Indian philosophy, Non-Vedic schools of philosophy was the voice of the laymen against the then prevailing social systems. The influence of this school on various sector like arts, literature, architecture, science and medicine is to be emphatically mentioned. Most of the temples in Kerala still stick on to the tradition of Buddhism and Jainism to certain extend. In that good old past, Non-Vedic schools of philosophy stood along with the common man and spoke for the common man.

21 Lessons For The 21st Century

    By Yuval Noah Harari

In a world deluged by irrelevant information, clarity is power. Censorship works not by blocking the flow of information, but rather by flooding people with disinformation and distractions. 21 Lessons for the 21st Century cuts through these muddy waters and confronts some of the most urgent questions on today’s global agenda.

Why is liberal democracy in crisis? Is God back? Is a new world war coming? What does the rise of Donald Trump signify? What can we do about the epidemic of fake news? Which civilisation dominates the world – the West, China, Islam? Should Europe keep its doors open to immigrants? Can nationalism solve the problems of inequality and climate change? What should we do about terrorism? What should we teach our kids?

Billions of us can hardly afford the luxury of investigating these questions, because we have more pressing things to do: we have to go to work, take care of the kids, or look after elderly parents. Unfortunately, history makes no concessions. If the future of humanity is decided in your absence, because you are too busy feeding and clothing your kids – you and they will not be exempt from the consequences. This is very unfair; but who said history was fair?

A book doesn’t give people food or clothes – but it can offer some clarity, thereby helping to level the global playing field. If this book empowers even a handful of people to join the debate about the future of our species, it has done its job.

Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow

    By Yuval Noah Hirari

Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow examines what might happen to the world when old myths are coupled with new godlike technologies, such as artificial intelligence and genetic engineering.

Humans conquered the world thanks to their unique ability to believe in collective myths about gods, money, equality and freedom – as described in Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind. In Homo Deus, Prof. Harari looks to the future and explores how global power might shift, as the principal force of evolution – natural selection – is replaced by intelligent design.

What will happen to democracy when Google and Facebook come to know our likes and our political preferences better than we know them ourselves? What will happen to the welfare state when computers push humans out of the job market and create a massive new “useless class”? How might Islam handle genetic engineering? Will Silicon Valley end up producing new religions, rather than just novel gadgets?

As Homo sapiens becomes Homo deus, what new destinies will we set for ourselves? As the self-made gods of planet earth, which projects should we undertake, and how will we protect this fragile planet and humankind itself from our own destructive powers? The book Homo Deus gives us a glimpse of the dreams and nightmares that will shape the 21st century.

Sapiens shows us where we came from. Homo Deus shows us where we’re going. Yuval Noah Harari envisions a near future in which we face a new set of challenges.

    Yuval Noah Harari.

Homo sapiens rules the world because it is the only animal that can believe in things that exist purely in its own imagination, such as gods, states, money and human rights.

Starting from this provocative idea, Sapiens goes on to retell the history of our species from a completely fresh perspective. It explains that money is the most pluralistic system of mutual trust ever devised; that capitalism is the most successful religion ever invented; that the treatment of animals in modern agriculture is probably the worst crime in history; and that even though we are far more powerful than our ancient ancestors, we aren’t much happier.

By combining profound insights with a remarkably vivid language, Sapiens acquired cult status among diverse audiences, captivating teenagers as well as university professors, animal rights activists alongside government ministers. By 2018, over 10 million copies have been sold, and the book has been translated into nearly 50 languages.

They also rejected the argument regarding racial purity. Everybody has the equal right in this earch to live and enjoy their lives.

This book is a study on materialistic trends in Indian philosophical traditions.

Today dalits and other sections of society are suffering material deprivation and access to their rights. The identity based issues are being floated to undermine the needs of larger sections of society. Deliberate or not, the issues related to identity, Ram Temple or Holy Cow are a powerful tool for political mobilization for the RSS agenda of Hindu Nation to dislodge the secular democratic values which need to be strengthened for betterment of Indian society.
