~ In both the Quran and the hadith, it is written that numerous types of sexual assault, ranging from rape to pedophilia, are justified in the name of Islam. The Quran and the hadith both condone sexual assault — and in many cases, even justify such acts as “holy” or “sacred.”
In order to properly analyze this topic and how it relates to Islam, we must take a look at various factors. One of these factors regards a man who was the founder and holiest prophet of Islam: Muhammad. According to several verses in the Quran, the prophet Muhammad was the perfect man whose character was divine and to be replicated in all ways possible. This has been described in several verses, such as Quran 33:21, Quran 68:4, Quran 4:80, Quran 4:59, and Quran 5:92. Knowing this, we must ask ourselves: what kind of man was Muhammad?
Muhammad was a man who carried out many acts in his life, but this article will only analyze his acts as they relate to sex abuse. According to historians and even the holy scripture in the hadith, Muhammad was a man of many wives. One of his wives, however, was not of the mature, proper age when she married Muhammad, nor was she of the mature, proper age when Muhammad forced himself on her. In this sense, the “mature” and “proper” age refers to the age at which it is appropriate for a woman (or a man) to become married and have sexual intercourse. In Sunnah: Sahih Bukhari 7:62:64, it is written as follows:
“Narrated Aisha: that the Prophet (ﷺ) married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., until his death).
This is an example of holy Islamic scripture saying bluntly that Muhammad, the holy prophet of Islam who is considered to be on an exalted standard of moral character, was a child rapist. There is obviously an enormous problem with a child rapist being praised as a perfect man in the scripture for an ideology with over 1.8 billion adherents in the world — a number that is also growing rapidly due to high birth rates among Muslims.
Not only does the hadith describe Muhammad’s marriage to a six year old and his sexual abuse of this same child just three years later, but in Sunnah: Sahih Muslim 8:3371, it also describes another particular incident where Muhammad was said to have participated in the kidnapping, rape, and enslavement of a group of women. The verse goes as follows:
“Abu Sirma said to Abu Sa’id al Khadri (Allah he pleased with him): O Abu Sa’id, did you hear Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) mentioning al-’azl? He said: Yes, and added: We went out with Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) on the expedition to the Bi’l-Mustaliq and took captive some excellent Arab women; and we desired them, for we were suffering from the absence of our wives, (but at the same time) we also desired ransom for them. So we decided to have sexual intercourse with them but by observing ‘azl (Withdrawing the male sexual organ before emission of semen to avoid-conception.) But we said: We are doing an act whereas Allah’s Messenger is amongst us; why not ask him? So we asked Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ), and he said: It does not matter if you do not do it, for every soul that is to be born up to the Day of Resurrection will be born.”
On this particular incident, Muhammad, as well as several other men, were traveling on their military campaign against the Banu Mustaliq tribe. After defeating a group of enemy fighters from the tribe, Muhammad and his jihadi soldiers captured the women of the tribe, raped them, and sold them into slavery. What makes this verse especially despicable is that the main concern of it is the use of al-’azl — otherwise known in the contemporary sense as the “pullout method.”
Yes, you read that right. The verse goes far enough into detail to the point that it explains what al-’azl is, and the purpose of it. So, what we know from this verse is that Muhammad not only participated in the kidnapping, raping, and enslavement of women, but he even condoned the use of the “pullout method” al-’azl so that his jihadi soldiers would not impregnate their victims.
A third example in the hadith of Muhammad’s sex abuse is detailed in Sunnah: an-Nasa’i 4:36:3411, where it is said that Allah himself allows for Muhammad to own slaves that he may sexually exploit from time to time. The verse is written as follows:
“It was narrated from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah had a female slave with whom he had intercourse, but ‘Aishah and Hafsah would not leave him alone until he said that she was forbidden for him. Then Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, revealed: ‘O Prophet! Why do you forbid (for yourself) that which Allah has allowed to you.’ until the end of the Verse.”
Another example of sex abuse in Islam is the concept known as “those your right hands possess.” While this phrase is written numerous times in the Quran, such as in Quran 4:2 — Quran 4:3, Quran 4:23 — Quran 4:24, and Quran 33:50, it remains unclear to many people what the actual meaning is unless people are willing to dive deeper into the meaning and accept a painful truth about Islam. The verses stated here are written as follows:
Quran 4:2 — “And give to the orphans their properties and do not substitute the defective [of your own] for the good [of theirs]. And do not consume their properties into your own. Indeed, that is ever a great sin.
Quran 4:3 — …And if you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphan girls, then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one or those your right hand possesses. That is more suitable that you may not incline [to injustice].”
Quran 4:23 — Prohibited to you [for marriage] are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your father’s sisters, your mother’s sisters, your brother’s sisters, your sister’s daughters, your [milk] mothers who nursed you, your sisters through nursing, your wives’ mothers, and your step-daughters under your guardianship [born] of your wives unto whom you have gone in. But if you have not gone in unto them, there is no sin upon you. And [also prohibited are] the wives of your sons who are from your [own] loins, and that you take [in marriage] two sisters simultaneously, except for what has already occurred. Indeed, Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.
Quran 4:24 — …And [also prohibited to you are all] married women except those your right hands possess. [This is] the decree of Allah upon you. And lawful to you are [all others] beyond these, [provided] that you seek them [in marriage] with [gifts from] your property, desiring chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse. So for whatever you enjoy [of marriage] from them, give them their due compensation as an obligation. And there is no blame upon you for what you mutually agree to beyond the obligation. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Wise.”
Quran 33:50 — “O Prophet, indeed We have made lawful to you your wives to whom you have given their due compensation and those your right hands possess from what Allah has returned to you [of captives] and the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who emigrated with you and a believing woman if she gives herself to the Prophet [and] if the Prophet wishes to marry her, [this is] only for you, excluding the [other] believers. We certainly know what We have made obligatory upon them concerning their wives and those their right hands possess, [but this is for you] in order that there will be upon you no discomfort. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.”
The meaning of the phrase “those your right hands possess” is simple: slaves captured after their people have been defeated. As well-renowned Islamic scholar Abdullah Yusuf Ali wrote in his translation of the Quran as a citation for Quran 4:24, “those your right hands possess” can be bluntly explained as “captives in a jihad.” This is a concept that is not alien to Islamic groups such as Boko Haram, who kidnapped 276 female students from a school in Nigeria in April of 2014, or ISIS, who, according to one report by The Economist, has taken as much as 2,000 women and children and sold or distributed them as sex slaves. Another report by The Daily Mail details the findings of Matthew Barber, a scholar of Yazidi history at the University of Chicago, which state that ISIS took captive an estimated 4,800 women and children to be sold into slavery or kept as sex slaves by ISIS fighters.
Another unfortunate case of sex abuse committed by Muslims is the child sexual exploitation scandal in Rotherham, a story unearthed into the mainstream dialogue in January of 2011 by The Times reporter Andrew Norfolk. Norfolk repeatedly pressed the issue of children who were being kidnapped by Muslim grooming gangs in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England and sold into human trafficking rings where they would in turn be sexually abused. These events were said to have taken place from as far back as the 1980s all the way to today. The abuse included things such as gang rape, threats of rape or death to the victims’ families, and forcing victims to watch as other victims were raped and abused. Some reports even state that victims were doused with gasoline and threatened to be set on fire by their abusers. The number of victims was estimated to be at least 1,400 young girls ranging in age from as young as 11 years old to as young as 15 years old.
The perpetrators, Muslim men who the majority of which were typically British men of Pakistani descent, are yet another example of British-Pakistani Muslim men who are greatly overrepresented in sexual offenses in the UK. The attackers are said to have targeted young, white British girls in their abductions. Some of the men arrested for their sexual crimes against children in Rotherham even shouted “Allahu Akbar” while in the courtroom.
The issue of grooming gangs in the UK, which has been deemed to be an epidemic by some observers, was not spoken of very much in the UK for many years — despite the issue being around for several decades. A young woman by the name of ‘Emma’ who was one of the victims of the horrific events in Rotherham even reported that British authorities attempted to silence her and told her not to mention the attacker’s ethnicity when she reported the rape at the age of 13. Another repugnant example of attempts to silence the victims of the Rotherham child sex ring happened just this month when Muslim Labour MP Naz Shah retweeted a tweet from a parody account on Twitter saying that the abused girls in Rotherham need to “shut their mouths for the good of diversity.” Some individuals have made the claim that these attempts to silence the victims are motivated by political correctness and the attempt to counter “racist attitudes.”
Lastly, we come to the unfortunate example of European countries facing a sexual assault crisis directly as a result of mass immigration of Muslim migrants from North Africa and the Middle East. Migrants that come in numbers ranging from the hundred thousands to the millions have gone into European countries and have brought third-world cultures and practices into first-world countries. This has resulted in the clear Islamization of Germany — women have been mistreated, raped, and abused — and the German government only allows for it to continue. One display of this Islamization that has occurred is shown in the German state of Bavaria, where a school sent a letter to the parents of students warning them not to allow their daughters to wear any clothing that may be deemed revealing, because 200 incoming Syrian migrants had just been settled next to the gym (which ended up being closed as a result of this migrant settlement.)
The school’s headmaster Martin Thalhammer was quoted as saying that modest clothing should be adhered to in order to “avoid discrepancies.” Thalhammer also said that revealing tops, blouses, or short minskirts could “lead to misunderstandings.”
This comes as an unsurprising consequence of Germany’s extreme immigration policies. The trend seems to be that the more Muslim migrants a country takes in from Islamic countries, the more that country’s liberal and free culture will be eroded. Germany is not alone with this problem, even though the country has taken in more migrants than all other European countries (more than twice as many as any other European country.) In Germany alone, crimes committed by Muslim migrants rose by 79% from 2014 to 2015 — with there being 1,688 cases of sexual assault on adults and children, as well as 458 rapes. Crime rose an additional 52.7% from 2015 to 2016 — with many of these crimes also being sexual offenses. One article by ex-Muslim extremist turned anti-extremism activist Maajid Nawaz details the urgency of dealing with the sexual assault epidemic in Germany and the drastic consequences of ignoring it due to political correctness.
To summarize the points made in this piece, I will state the main ideas already written here:
Point 1/3: It is true that Islamic scripture promotes sexual assaults such as rape and pedophilia, and that this is a major problem considering these scriptures are used as a life manual by over 1.8 billion people in the world who are growing in number.
Point 2/3: This has proven to be a reality that is having a terrible effect on the world, as shown by the horrific acts by Boko Haram, ISIS, and Muslim migrants in Europe.
Point 3/3: We must stop allowing political correctness and cultural relativism to make us turn a blind eye to atrocities promoted in the Quran and hadith that are acted out in the real world by Muslims.
